Oh Christmas Tree

We have cut our own tree down for the last several years.  This is a tradition that I love and takes me back to my childhood.  We cut our Christmas tree down every year and someone different got to choose the tree each year, although it always seemed to be my dad's turn.  And the tree he picked was always the biggest tree he could find.  We liked to call our trees Griswold Family Christmas Trees... they were ridiculous.  (And BTW, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite movies.)

When we went to get our tree this year we noticed that the farm was a bit sparse... and when the tractor got us all the way out to the field we were met by the owner who told everyone that the drought has really hurt their tree crop and they had brought in a bunch of pre-cut trees. 

So much for cutting our own tree down... Despite having a pre-cut tree in our front room this is probably our prettiest tree, even though it is the smallest one we've ever had.
