Severan is 16 months old now and I (actually all of us!) are just smitten with him. He is the sweetest thing ever. A lover, hugger, cuddler, jokster, talker, and all around amazing toddler! He uses sign language and words to communicate with us so well now and he is not afraid to use a loud voice to get what he needs (with so much noise around here he has to do something!) After his second skull surgery at the end of January he started sleeping better. Down around 8 pm and is up at 5. His favorite foods are chicken apple sausage, frozen blueberries, and raspberries (weird!) Sev LOVES music and he dances to whatever beat he can find. I just adore hanging out with this little Mister. He's my favorite youngest child EVER!
Hannah Grace has her last day of preschool tomorrow and then she's a Kindergartner, which blows my mind. She had just turned 2 before we moved to Colorado three years ago, which seems like yesterday. Hannah loves dresses, pink, princesses, and swimming. Girlfriend has a mean sweet tooth and continues to make us laugh with her witty humor. HG did gymnastics this Spring and loved it and this summer will be her first summer going to camp. I'm so excited for her but also a little sad that she's not so little anymore.
Blaine turned 7 in February and competed in his 2nd Brazilian Jiu jitsu tournament this month. He is finishing 1st grade with a bang this week. We are so proud of his work at school. His goal was to read at the 8th grade level by the end of the school year and it turns out that he's almost there. Mrs. Johnson tested him at the 7th grade level during end-of-year assessments and he passed. His comprehension was only 4/6 and it needed to be 5/6 for passing... But we will take it! He was tested by the district to see if he qualified for the Gifted and Talented program and he passed. He qualified in both math and language arts, which is great, and this "label" will follow him through his senior year in HS (whether he likes it or not!). Blaine did extremely well at the Colorado State Championships last weekend too. He's been doing jiu jitsu for over a year now. In his first tournament he won Silver and in his 2nd tournament he took 1st place *GOLD* in his weight class. His third and final match was difficult - he was up against a young man whose mother is a black belt in BJJ and is an Olympic Judo competitor. But, after three minutes, Blaine took the lead and WON.
