When Blaine realized that Hawaii was off the table he said all he really wanted was his friend, Siri. He had it all planned out and every time he talked about his birthday he included Siri and let us know what food he was going to eat and where we were going to go and made it seem like she still lived up the street. Looking at the map didn't really convince him that it was a long way because his solution was, "We can just fly there."
Smart kid.
I told Kari that we were thinking of coming and long story short, Kari actually ended up finding the cheapest tickets on the face of the earth and being the crazy, last minute planners that we are (not): WE BOOKED OUR FLIGHTS! The flight times are crazy and it will be a whirlwind trip but the important thing is that Blaine will get to be with his beloved friend for his 5th birthday and we couldn't be more blessed that 1. we have friends like the Pembertons 2. Have the resources to be able to do something special like this and 3. Blaine has such a special place in his heart for Siri that he would request that for his birthday.
We are so excited!
These are the things that Blaine told us he wants to do:
1. Play
2. Make Siri some of his homemade GF bread
3. Eat macaroni and cheese
4. Eat cupcakes
5. "And just play."
Should be easy to do all of those things for our Mister :)
And BONUS for us that (super cheap) Spirit Airlines flies into Dallas, so we get to spend time with Mimi, Pops and Uncle Matt while we're in Texas. A surprise trip for all of us and one that I'm certain will not soon be forgotten.
Happy birthday-week, Mister!!!!
YEAH!!!!!!! We got goody bag stuff last night. The kids picked it...Spiderman stuff for Blaine and William and princess stuff for Siri and Hannah.
